VIJAYAWADA: State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched its 4G services in Vijayawada city. The Chief General Manager of BSNL for Andhra Pradesh region, AP Rao, launched the BSNL 4G services today along with other officials in Vijayawada.
Expressing satisfaction over the BSNL having 3.33 lakh new mobile customers in the current year, the customer base would substantially increase with the launch of new services.
On the occasion, he said currently 350 towers are working in the AP circle and in addition to this, 150 4G towers would be set up in the Vijayawada region alone. BSNL would be spending Rs 200 Crore for expansion and modernization of the mobile services, he added.
The operator has already introduced 4G services and networks in states like Kerala, some parts of Karnataka and other regions. And now with the launch in Andhra Pradesh, the subscribers in this region will be able to experience high data speeds on the 4G network.
BSNL has also partnered with Amazon Prime to offer one year of free membership worth Rs 999 on select postpaid plans to its customers.
